For all of our 8mm film to digital transfers we use a MS-R8 high-resolution motion picture film scanner that meticulously scans each individual film frame in "true" 24-bit color. It features solid state registration which produces a flicker-free, crystal-clear picture accurate within one pixel. Our state-of-the-art film scanner produces the highest quality reproduction of your film in the industry. This is the same exact equipment used by the Academy of Motion Pictures Film Archives in Hollywood.

Film Cleaning and Preparation
Prior to every film restoration, we carefully inspect, clean and condition each reel of film. Our extensive cleaning process helps remove debris, lint, minor mold and scratches from the film stock. All damaged splices are repaired and the film is conditioned using an oil based film cleaning solution before processing. This intensive preparation helps to ensure the highest quality film conversion.
Color Restoration & Film Grain Reduction
The color of old film can fade and shift over time so it is extremely important to manually restore the original color of the film. We painstakingly color correct each individual scene by adjusting the color balance, gamma, luminance and exposure to achieve optimum picture quality. Additionally we use an advanced film grain reduction filter that significantly reduces film grain noise inherent in older film. In addition, we don't charge extra for this premium service.
