At Icehouse Pictures we don't use automated equipment to transfer film. Each film is individually monitored throughout the transfer process by a trained professional. The picture is continually adjusted to achieve outstanding color balance and saturation. The telecine projector's light source is constantly regulated to provide even distribution of light so there is no ghosting and zero "hot-spots" on the film.
Another step in ensuring a quality film conversion is to properly synch the telecine projector with the camera to avoid flicker. Since 8mm film projects at 18 to 24 frames per second and each CCD on the camera records moving images at 30 frames per second the shutter speed of our 3 CCD camera is synched with the projector to ensure a steady, 100%"flicker-free" digital 8mm film transfer.
Searching for a film transfer company that uses the most advanced equipment to convert your 8mm film is important but it's equally important to find a company that knows how to properly calibrate that equipment to achieve optimum results. So don't trust your irreplaceable home movies with just anyone, trust the experts at Icehouse Pictures.
